CENTCOM said on June 8 US forces disabled an unladen tanker in the Gulf of Oman
after it attempted to sail to an Iranian port in breach of an ongoing blockade
of Iran. Since the blockade began on April 13, CENTCOM said its forces have
disabled seven non-compliant vessels, directed 134 vessels to alter course and
allowed 42 vessels carrying humanitarian aid to proceed.
