China said it firmly opposes a recent visit to Taiwan by a handful of South
Korean National Assembly members. The Chinese foreign ministry has expressed a
stern position, and the Chinese Embassy in South Korea has lodged formal
protests with South Korea’s foreign ministry, the National Assembly and relevant
political parties. China urged Seoul to honor the one-China principle and act
consistently to preserve the hard-won stable China–South Korea relationship.
