Apple (AAPL.O) unveiled a next‑generation AI platform at WWDC that includes an
upgraded, AI version of Siri. Craig Federighi said the new Apple Intelligence is
underpinned by Google technology and is designed to improve contextual
understanding of user requests. Apple positioned the Siri overhaul as central to
its AI revival after the initial Apple Intelligence rollout two years ago saw
slow feature deployment and lagged rivals. The software update will emphasize
AI, performance and security; Apple also named the next macOS Golden Gate and
tweaked last year’s Liquid Glass interface by adding a slider to adjust visual
effect intensity.
