Israel Channel 12 reported President Trump told Prime Minister Netanyahu not to
let clashes with Iran escalate into a full-scale war, warning “you may soon have
to face Iran alone.” Trump said he urged Netanyahu not to carry out retaliatory
strikes after Iran’s recent missile attack; the call ended without a clear
agreement and Netanyahu did not disclose a final decision. Netanyahu then
consulted defence officials and informed US Secretary of State Rubio he had
decided to strike Iran, Trump said, adding Israel notified the US very late and
was already en route to strike; Trump said he managed to reduce the scale of the
attack. Trump said five regional mediation partners had asked him to press
Netanyahu to halt the strikes and advance a peace accord, and he remains willing
to reach an agreement with Iran, which he said also wants one.
