Spokesman Lin Jian said military means cannot solve the issue and resorting to
force only complicates matters. With Iran-US talks at a critical stage, neither
side should reignite military conflict. Regional states' sovereignty, security
and territorial integrity must be respected. China urged all parties to remain
calm and restrained, cease actions that could escalate tensions, take concrete
steps to cool the situation, pursue political and diplomatic channels and seek
an early comprehensive, lasting ceasefire.
