Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan are offering hedge fund clients ways to bet against
the $1.8 trillion private credit market via baskets of listed companies with
exposure to the sector. Goldman’s indexes target European financial firms,
business development companies, and alternative managers, while JPMorgan’s
basket includes alternatives managers and BDCs. Bank of America previously
offered a similar European-focused basket but withdrew the recommendation.
Lenders declined to comment.
