China welcomed a European Parliament delegation for its first visit in eight
years, signaling efforts to stabilize ties after the lifting of mutual
sanctions. Led by Anna Cavazzini, the nine-member group will visit Beijing and
Shanghai and meet senior officials including Shen Chunyao. While Beijing aims to
boost legislative cooperation, EU lawmakers will probe issues including
non-compliant exports from Chinese platforms like Shein, Alibaba and Temu, amid
broader tensions over trade imbalances and market access.
