China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) held a meeting on
April 2 with major food delivery platforms, including Meituan, Taobao Flash
Sale, and JD.com, to ensure compliance with upcoming food safety regulations.
The platforms were urged to fully implement the "Food Safety Responsibility
Regulations for Online Food Service Providers," which will take effect June 1.
SAMR stressed the need for platforms to strengthen food safety management,
improve qualification reviews, and enhance collaboration with government
oversight, including integrating technology and involving delivery workers in
food safety monitoring.
