INDIA GOVT OFFICIAL: HAVE ADEQUATE BUFFER OF WHEAT AND RICE

U.S. natural gas futures rose as a brief cold spell boosted heating and power demand, after four straight sessions of declines. Higher oil prices linked to the Iran war also supported the front-month contract. A cold wave moving through the Ohio Valley and eastward lifted near-term demand, according to Dennis Kissler. May futures gained 1.5% to $2.843/MMBtu on New York Mercantile Exchange. Forecasts show above-average temperatures across much of the eastern U.S. from April 11–20.
