China plans to double non-fossil energy supply by 2035 from 2025 levels, with a
significant rise by 2030, according to NDRC Vice Chairman Wang Changlin.
Hydropower projects in Tibet and desert renewable bases will drive growth. The
target clarifies a 10-year plan under the 15th five-year plan and may exceed
prior goals. Analysts say doubling consumption could lift the non-fossil share
to about 29% by 2029, marking a more ambitious trajectory than existing targets.
