Cursor is in advanced talks to raise about $2 billion at a valuation exceeding
$50 billion, according to a person familiar with the matter. Andreessen Horowitz
is set to co-lead the round, with Nvidia and Thrive Capital also in discussions
to participate. Terms are not final and could change. The startup’s AI coding
assistant, launched in 2023, has seen rapid adoption as demand for
developer-focused AI tools surges. Cursor faces intensifying competition from
players including OpenAI and Anthropic in the fast-growing AI coding market.
