Apple Inc. appointed John Ternus as CEO effective Sept. 1, with Tim Cook
transitioning to executive chairman. Cook will remain CEO through the summer to
ensure an orderly transition. As part of the leadership changes, Apple executive
Johny Srouji will assume an expanded role as chief hardware officer, overseeing
broader hardware responsibilities, including areas previously under Ternus. The
transition marks Apple’s first CEO change since Cook succeeded Steve Jobs in
2011.
