according to sources familiar with mediation efforts. The move follows U.S.
President Donald Trump’s rejection of an earlier plan that proposed ending
hostilities before addressing Iran’s nuclear program. Iranian Foreign Minister
Abbas Araghchi is returning to Tehran for consultations with leadership, a
process complicated by limited access to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. Trump
said Iran described itself as in a “State of Collapse” and wants the Strait of
Hormuz reopened.
