US core capital goods orders rose 3.3% in March, the biggest gain since mid-2020, extending strong investment driven by AI spending, Commerce Department data showed. February was revised up to a 1.6% increase. Overall durable goods orders rose 0.8%, with Boeing Co. reporting slightly higher aircraft bookings. Gains were seen in communications equipment, electrical hardware, motor vehicles and military aircraft.
