Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing CEO Bonnie Chan said London Metal Exchange (LME) warehouses approved in Hong Kong are close to full capacity, after LME began authorizing local storage facilities last year. She noted the number of LME-approved warehouses in Hong Kong has risen to 15 from just four a year ago, calling it a key milestone in building physical-market connectivity. Chan said LME and HKEX will explore further cooperation, including futures products and RMB-denominated contracts, as they aim to develop a comprehensive commodities ecosystem in Asia.
