The head of Iran’s parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Commission
praised South Korea for declining to participate in military operations in the
Strait of Hormuz despite what he described as significant pressure, calling the
decision “wise” and supportive of regional stability. In a phone call with the
chair of South Korea’s National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification
Committee, the Iranian official also welcomed the suspension of a proposed
parliamentary resolution condemning Iran, saying it reflected political maturity
and understanding of developments inside the country.
