Iran’s ambassador to China said Tehran was ready to support Chinese leader Xi
Jinping’s four-point proposal aimed at establishing lasting security and shared
development in the Persian Gulf region, with the endorsement coming ahead of
President Trump’s planned meeting with his counterpart in Beijing and after the
Iranian foreign minister met China’s foreign minister in Beijing last week;
Iranian Ambassador Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said on X that the two foreign
ministers discussed the plan during the meeting, while Chinese state media said
last month the proposal included “adherence to the principles of peaceful
coexistence, national sovereignty, international rule of law and a balanced
approach to development and security.”
