A regional source told CNN that US-Iran talks will not make significant progress before Trump meets Xi Jinping in Beijing, saying movement on negotiations will "depend on the results of President Trump’s visit to Beijing." The source said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is “very likely” to attend the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Delhi on Thursday and Friday, overlapping with Trump’s visit. Araghchi’s attendance is “important,” as Saudi and Egyptian foreign ministers may also be present, though not confirmed, amid Pakistan-mediated US-Iran backchannel dialogue. The source added China will be an important player in ensuring dialogue continues.
