Donald Trump said he postponed planned US strikes on Iran after requests from leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to allow more time for diplomacy. Trump said the strikes, scheduled for Tuesday, were delayed “hopefully maybe forever” as the US held extensive talks with Tehran. He said any deal must ensure “no nuclear weapons for Iran.” The Gulf states had faced repeated Iranian missile and drone attacks during the conflict earlier this year.
