Douyin E-commerce said the number of livestreaming rooms generating more than 10
million yuan in gross merchandise value surged 116% year on year during the
first three days of the 618 shopping festival from May 15–17, Securities Times
reported.
The platform said the number of brands with sales exceeding 100 million yuan
rose 89% from a year earlier, while more than 1 million new influencers
participated in the campaign for the first time and recorded sales growth,
signaling further recovery in midyear consumer demand.
