considered possible new strikes on Iran amid stalled negotiations, according to
U.S. officials cited by Axios. Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete
Hegseth and CIA Director John Ratcliffe attended the meeting. Pakistan’s Field
Marshal Asim Munir and a Qatari delegation traveled to Tehran in parallel
mediation efforts. Axios reported that Trump had grown increasingly frustrated
with the talks and was “leaning toward ordering a strike” by Thursday night,
though officials said no final decision had been made.
