Meta Platforms (META.O) has launched its first consumer subscription service for its Meta AI chatbot to help offset the company's several trillion dollars of AI investment. The offering has two tiers: Meta One Plus at $7.99 per month and Meta One Premium at $19.99 per month. Meta is initially rolling out the Meta AI subscription in Singapore, Guatemala and Bolivia and says it will expand to additional countries. Users can continue to use Meta's AI chatbot for image and video generation for free, but will encounter usage caps as usage increases. Meta declined to disclose the per-tier usage limits, saying only that Premium members receive materially higher usage allowances than the lower tier.
