China’s first cardio‑oncology research institute, the Fudan University Institute
for Cardio‑Oncology (preparatory), was inaugurated on May 28. Led by Zhongshan
Hospital affiliated with Fudan University and co‑established with Fudan Cancer
Hospital, Huashan Hospital, Huadong Hospital, the Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat
Hospital and Fudan’s basic medicine, pharmacy, biomedical research and public
health schools, the institute aims to systematize and standardize
cardio‑oncology in China. It will integrate clinical care, research and
education to accelerate translation of basic research into clinical practice and
improve long‑term survival and quality of life for cancer patients, addressing
cancer chronic‑care needs.
