XPeng (09868.HK) chairman He Xiaopeng said on the company’s Q1 results call that
a full-redundancy GX Robotaxi fleet is conducting limited public L4 road tests
in Guangzhou and the company aims to launch passenger-carrying Robotaxi
demonstration operations there in Q3. He said XPeng’s higher-level autonomous
driving systems have begun European certification; the second-generation VAL is
undergoing tests in Europe and the company hopes to secure regulatory approvals
in multiple European countries in early next year and roll the system out to
users. He added XPeng will build a multi-party Robotaxi ecosystem with operators
and, after overseas deployment of the second-generation VLA, will explore
deploying lower-cost Robotaxi models domestically and internationally.
