MIIT data show China had 5.009 million 5G base stations at end-April, a net increase of 171,000 since end-2023, accounting for 38.7% of mobile base stations, 0.5 ppt higher than Q1. 5G mobile subscriptions reached 1.262 bln, a net add of 57.58 mln since end-2023, representing 68.7% of mobile subscribers.
