At 14:44 on May 29 Shenzhou-22 successfully detached from the Chinese space station complex and began a flyaround, Beijing mission control said. The Shenzhou-21 crew will return to the Dongfeng landing site aboard Shenzhou-22. Controllers described the departure as smooth; during withdrawal the vehicle will make brief holds at two points 19 m and 200 m from the station. Shenzhou-22 is executing a three-orbit autonomous fast‑return profile, as used for Shenzhou-21, with a total return time of roughly 5.5 hours. Altitude will be reduced progressively during the flyaround; after three orbits, two attitude adjustments and separation maneuvers the spacecraft will reenter and proceed to final descent.
