Moody's Analytics says since the Feb. 28 outbreak of the Iran conflict US households have spent an average additional $447.19 on fuel-related costs. Higher gasoline and airfares have cost US consumers about $60bn in aggregate. Moody's chief economist Mark Zandi said: "Unless the war ends soon, cash‑strapped consumers will have no choice but to be more cautious with spending, which will threaten an already weak economy."

Prime Minister Starmer will on Monday be forced to publish hundreds of private communications between disgraced former UK ambassador to the US Peter Mandelson and government members, disclosures that could further imperil his already precarious premiership. After Mandelson was sacked last year, the Starmer government — under parliamentary pressure — will release texts and emails among ministers, advisers and senior officials related to Mandelson. London-based Iran International TV, citing a source, reported President PEZESHKIAN has submitted a formal resignation request to the Supreme Leader's office. In a letter sent Sunday he said the presidency and government have been excluded from major state decision-making, creating a power vacuum that has allowed hardliners within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to seize control. He said he cannot manage the government or fulfill his legal duties under these conditions and has asked to resign immediately.
