China toy retail excluding designer/collectible toys reached 103.53 bln yuan in 2025, up 5.8% YoY; designer/collectible toy retail totaled 67.69 bln yuan, up 45.4% YoY. China Toy and Juvenile Products Association president Zhang Ying said Chinese firms have increasingly captured the global shift toward larger-child and adult-focused products, citing marked changes she observed at European trade shows in 2024 and the appearance of dedicated collectible-toy zones by early 2026.

The State Council approved Regulations on Overseas Investment at its 83rd executive meeting on April 17, 2026; the rules were published and will take effect July 1, 2026. Framed under the PRC Foreign Relations Law and Foreign Trade Law, the regulations aim to advance high‑level opening and higher‑quality outbound investment, tighten outbound investment management, protect investors’ lawful overseas investment rights and safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests. The rules apply to PRC onshore investors’ overseas investment. The State Council said China will proactively align with high‑standard international economic and trade rules, promote high‑quality Belt and Road cooperation, strengthen multilateral and bilateral investment cooperation mechanisms, participate in international investment rule‑making, advance cross‑border industrial and supply‑chain cooperation, and oppose unilateralism and protectionism to support an open world economy.

China's Shanghai Composite fell 0.12% at the mid-day close after earlier gains; the Shenzhen Composite dropped 0.60% and the ChiNext index fell 0.90%. AI PC-theme names were active, with Huaqin Technology among several stocks hitting daily limit-up. Coal, chemicals and power-grid equipment sectors strengthened, also seeing multiple limit-up moves. CPO and PCB themes weakened, with Cambridge Technology at the daily limit-down. AI application, sports and oil & gas sectors were among the top performers; glass/fibreglass, semiconductors and baijiu lagged. Market breadth skewed positive, with more than 3,800 A-shares rising.
