Cui Dongshu said China’s share of global new‑energy passenger vehicle sales reached 61% in Jan‑Apr 2026. In 2026 China held 56% of the global battery‑electric vehicle market and 71% of plug‑in hybrid sales. Outside China, Jan‑Apr new‑energy sales totaled 2.63 mln units, up 25% YoY, supported by a sharp rebound in Europe. Strong exports from Chinese independent automakers and volatility in US demand lifted independent Chinese brands’ overseas NEV sales share to 15.8% in 2025 and 23% in 2026.

At the 02:30 close, Shanghai most-active gold contract fell 1.28% to 980 yuan/gram; Shanghai most-active silver contract fell 0.73% to 18,130 yuan/kg; SC crude oil most-active contract rose 3.57% to 606 yuan/barrel.
