CHINA FOREIGN MINISTER met Brazil foreign minister VIEIRA in Beijing for the
fifth China‑Brazil foreign minister-level comprehensive strategic dialogue.
China praised Brazil’s adherence to the One‑China principle and reiterated
support for Brazil’s sovereignty and independent development. Both sides agreed
to leverage the high‑level Coordination and Cooperation Committee and a
development‑strategy alignment mechanism to deepen cooperation and deliver
tangible projects, and to implement leaders’ plan for a 2026 China‑Brazil
Cultural Year to expand cultural, education, tourism, sports, subnational, youth
and media ties. They pledged closer coordination in multilateral forums
including the UN and BRICS, promoted China’s four global initiatives, and said
they would press for a more equitable global governance system and defend
developing countries’ interests. China affirmed it remains a reliable partner
for Latin America and the Caribbean and will work with regional states,
including Brazil, to deepen overall China‑Latin America cooperation.
