In the early hours of June 2 local time, the Knesset plenary approved a bill to
dissolve parliament by a 106-0 vote. Under Israeli law the bill must return to
relevant committees to amend disputed clauses, then pass consecutive second and
third readings in plenary before taking effect and triggering dissolution.
Elections are scheduled no later than Oct. 27, 2026; if the bill ultimately
passes, Israel could hold early parliamentary elections.
