China's ChiNext Index rose about 3% intraday; the Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.56% and the Shenzhen Composite Index gained 1.75%. CPO and fiber-optic concept stocks led sector gains.

Air-raid sirens sounded across much of Ukraine, including Kyiv, in the early hours of June 2 amid repeated explosions. Ukraine’s air force said Russia launched 73 missiles and 656 drones against Kyiv and other areas. Ukraine reported at least 10 dead and about 100 wounded in Kyiv, Dnipro and Kharkiv so far. The Russian Defence Ministry confirmed large-scale strikes on targets inside Ukraine.

Hang Seng Tech Index afternoon gains widened to about 4%; Hang Seng Index rose 1.74%. Tencent Holdings (0700.HK) climbed nearly 9%; Meituan (3690.HK) gained over 8%.
