European Parliament’s International Trade Committee voted to approve legislation removing multiple EU import tariffs on U.S. goods, a key element of the EU-U.S. trade agreement struck in July 2025.

YONHAP reported June 1 that Korea Import Car Association data show Chinese-made cars ranked third in April new imported-car registrations in South Korea, surpassing Japanese-made cars for the first time. April import registrations: European-made 16,800 vehicles; U.S.-made 13,600; Chinese-made 2,023; Japanese-made 1,974. South Korean outlets described the result as a signal of shifting import-market dynamics; Korea Economic said Chinese brands are rapidly increasing their presence.

Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, met in Beijing on June 2 with Wu Sitian, chairman of the UK–China Trade Association, and CEO Peter Bai. They discussed boosting China‑UK business engagement, strengthening institutional cooperation, facilitating bilateral investment and third‑market joint projects, and deepening cross‑border industrial‑chain and supply‑chain cooperation.
