June 2, 2026 — China’s foreign minister Wang Yi met UK foreign secretary Cooper
in Beijing for the 11th China‑UK Strategic Dialogue. Wang reiterated China will
pursue high-quality development and high-level opening, saying China’s
post‑reform record shows openness drives progress. He framed the 15th Five‑Year
Plan outline as both China’s development roadmap and a world-facing opportunity
list aligned with the UK’s modern industrial strategy, signaling scope for
bilateral economic cooperation. China asked the UK to provide Chinese firms a
fair, non‑discriminatory business environment and to reasonably define security
boundaries to support deeper ties. The two exchanged views on Iran and Ukraine.
