China’s Accelerate Agricultural and Rural Modernization plan sets 2030 targets:
steady improvement in supply security for grain and other key farm products,
with comprehensive grain production capacity around 1.45 trillion jin (≈725
million tonnes). It targets agricultural and related industry value-added of
25.8 trillion yuan and raises the agricultural science and technology progress
contribution rate to 67%, aiming for major breakthroughs in new productive
forces and greater agri‑tech self‑reliance. The plan also seeks sustained farm
income growth and a narrower urban–rural income ratio, consolidation of
poverty‑alleviation gains with improved anti‑return‑to‑poverty mechanisms, and
accelerated construction of modern large‑scale agriculture plus upgraded rural
infrastructure and public services.
