U.S. Rare Earths (USAR.O) said on Tuesday it will invest $1.2 billion to build a
magnet-manufacturing and rare-earth metals plant in Cherokee County, South
Carolina to expand U.S. domestic capacity. The facility is expected to produce
about 6,400 tonnes a year of NdFeB magnets and 5,000 tonnes a year of rare-earth
metals and alloys, with target start-up in 2028.
