USD/JPY slid about 30 pips to 159.45. Bank of Japan Governor UEDA said the basic stance is to continue raising policy rates.

At the morning close, China’s main futures contracts were mostly higher: rapeseed oil, live hogs and apples rose over 2%; Shanghai tin was up nearly 2%. Logs, soybean No.1, Shanghai zinc, benzene, styrene, RSS20 rubber, p-xylene, propylene, international copper, PTA, LPG, Shanghai copper and palladium gained more than 1%. On the downside, lithium carbonate fell over 2%, polysilicon dropped nearly 2%, while asphalt and alumina declined more than 1%.
