On June 4 total turnover on the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges was CNY 2.758 trillion, down CNY 372.6 billion from the prior session. Shanghai turnover was CNY 1.275 trillion (volume 621 million lots) versus CNY 1.430 trillion previously; Shenzhen turnover was CNY 1.483 trillion (volume 719 million lots) versus CNY 1.701 trillion previously. GigaDevice led single-stock turnover at CNY 29.30 billion, followed by InnoLight Technology CNY 27.60 billion, Hengtong Optic‑Electric CNY 25.73 billion, FOXCONN INDUSTRIAL CNY 22.12 billion and BOE Technology Group (BOE A) CNY 19.95 billion.

On the 4th the East African Community (EAC) said health ministers from eight member states agreed to adopt urgent regional measures to respond to the Ebola outbreak. The EAC instructed members to implement monitoring and control at affected areas, points of entry and borders in line with WHO regulations and guidance, and will establish a regional technical working group to coordinate the response.
