Hang Seng TECH Index slid more than 2% in afternoon trade; Huahong Semiconductor (01347.HK) fell over 7% and SMIC (00981.HK) dropped over 6%. Hang Seng Index was down about 1.2%.

CSI Convertible Bond Index opened down 0.10%. Jingda CB, Lianrui CB and Hongwei CB fell 2.78%, 2.70% and 2.10% respectively; Xianghe CB jumped 13.72% and Titan CB rose 3.14%.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development published a draft revision to the Housing Provident Fund Management Regulations for public comment. The draft allows employees to withdraw balances from their provident fund accounts where they: pay rent; purchase, build, renovate, or major-repair owner-occupied housing; repay mortgage principal and interest; fund home renovations up to a prescribed limit; pay property-management fees for owner-occupied housing; retire or leave employment for retirement; become fully incapacitated and have employment terminated; emigrate for settlement abroad; or under other housing-consumption circumstances approved by the State Council.
