UN Secretary-General Guterres welcomed the announced Lebanon‑Israel ceasefire and urged all parties to fully respect the agreement and comply with international law. He called on Hezbollah and other non-state actors to accept Lebanese government authority, urged Israel to respect Lebanon's sovereignty and withdraw its forces, and said the UN supports diplomatic efforts to reinforce the ceasefire and implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701 while negotiations continue toward lasting peace and stability.
