Swiss government says it expects the US may impose additional tariffs under a Section 301 probe targeting industrial overcapacity.

The IAEA said on the 5th a temporary local ceasefire it mediated between Russia and Ukraine near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant came into effect to allow repairs to a key power line. Under IAEA expert supervision, Russian and Ukrainian technicians are due to begin repairing a 750 kV transmission line in the coming days; the line has been out for more than two months, leaving the plant dependent on a single 330 kV line to supply cooling power to six shutdown reactors. That 330 kV line has suffered repeated recent outages, forcing use of emergency diesel generators. The agency said this is Director General Grossi’s sixth time brokering a temporary local pause near Zaporizhzhia, with both sides agreeing to the halt for nuclear safety after weeks of sensitive negotiations with the IAEA.
