Several U.S. state attorneys general are drafting a complaint to challenge
Paramount Global’s proposed $110 bln acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery
(WBD.O), people familiar with the matter said. Roughly 10 states, led by
California, are preparing potential antitrust litigation and discussing
procedures to file this month, though no final decision has been made on filing
or which states will join. Most participating AGs are Democrats, but at least
two Republican attorneys general are involved. Officials have met with Paramount
and deal opponents and requested sworn statements or testimony that could be
used in litigation.
