Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said early on June 6 it
intercepted one of four "unauthorized" oil tankers attempting to leave the
Strait of Hormuz at about 01:30 local time after issuing warnings; the other
vessels reportedly turned back. The IRGC said a U.S. drone struck a
communications facility on Qeshm Island and Sirik port at about 02:00, and that
its Aerospace Force responded by launching ballistic missiles that hit a U.S.
air base in Kuwait and key U.S. Fifth Fleet facilities in Bahrain. The IRGC
warned that if such actions recur, "limited responses will no longer suffice"
and the adversary will "bear the consequences" of a complete interruption of oil
and gas exports through the Strait of Hormuz.
