Henry Ensher, a former US ambassador to Lebanon, said he believes Hezbollah — at
the centre of the Israel‑Lebanon conflict — could transition into an entity
acceptable to the US, Israel and the Lebanese state. Ensher said Trump told him
the US had contacted Hezbollah to pursue that outcome and warned Lebanon lacks
the capacity to subdue the armed group, suggesting a more pragmatic approach may
be needed.
