Nikkei reports Japan’s government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will begin as early as this summer surveys of public and private oil storage systems across Southeast Asia, covering the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand. Japan has designated the Philippines as its top priority for strengthening regional energy supply chains; Vietnam is classified as a "priority support" country.

The Prime Minister's Office said on the 7th (local time) the cabinet unanimously approved Prime Minister Netanyahu’s appointment of Shmuel Ben‑Ezra as national security adviser and chair of the National Security Council. Netanyahu announced the nomination last week. Ben‑Ezra previously led development of the Arrow‑3 missile defence system and served as head of operations, technology and cyber at the Shin Bet.
