After US jobs data markedly beat forecasts, President Trump said it would be a mistake if Fed policymakers opted to raise rates and reiterated he does not want to influence Kevin Warsh ahead of Warsh’s first Fed meeting. Trump said markets often fall when data is strong because investors expect Fed tightening, but there is no reason to hike; he called raising the policy rate wrong and said rates should be lowered.
