NBC reported Trump said Iran's nuclear-weapons program should be blamed on its previous government. He recalled an Obama-era agreement negotiated by six countries in which Iran limited nuclear activity in exchange for sanctions relief and release of frozen assets; Trump withdrew the US from that deal during his first term. He said any future agreement would not immediately unfreeze Iranian assets or lift sanctions, adding "That's later. If they behave well, do well, we'll start talking about those matters."
