CHINA arrived in Pyongyang around 1200 local time on June 8 to begin a state visit to N. KOREA. N. KOREA leader Kim Jong Un received CHINA on arrival.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at a routine briefing on June 7 that China is deeply concerned after Iran launched four rounds of missile strikes against Israel in response to a deadly Israeli airstrike on Beirut. Lin urged all parties to honor ceasefire commitments, maintain negotiation momentum and resolve the dispute through political and diplomatic means, calling for an early comprehensive, lasting ceasefire to restore peace and security in the Middle East and Gulf region.
