Hong Kong stocks closed weaker after a lower open. HSI fell 1.22%; Hang Seng
Tech Index dropped 2.71%. Oil and gas services outperformed: Shandong Molong
(00568.HK) rose over 25%, MI Energy (01555.HK) rose over 14%, CNOOC (00883.HK)
up about 2%. Heavy-equipment names spiked then pared gains — China Longgong
(03339.HK) up about 5%, Zoomlion (01157.HK) +3%+. Domestic banks strengthened:
CITIC Bank (00998.HK) and Chongqing Bank (01963.HK) each gained over 2%. PCB,
household appliances, dairy and education sectors also outperformed. Decliners
included gold, OLED, optical-communications, airlines, semiconductors and
biotech. Kingboard Laminates (01888.HK) jumped over 12%; MINIMAX-W (00100.HK)
and Shenghong Technology (02476.HK) each fell more than 8%.
