Alex Gendler, spokesman for Israel’s embassy in London, said Israel seeks a
ceasefire with Lebanon and would welcome a 'good' US‑Iran agreement if one is
reached. He said Hezbollah 'struck first' during the Lebanon‑Israel ceasefire
and stressed the ceasefire terms were agreed between Israel and Lebanon, not
with Iran or Hezbollah. Gendler added Israel’s mission in Iran is 'not yet
complete' and accused Iran of sponsoring terrorism and attacking Israel while
using Lebanese civilians as cover.
